I was walking through the small town where I live this morning. The flower and Veg markets were flourishing, the cafes were full in the beautiful Cote d'Azur sunshine and all was 'right with the world until......I saw this dog!! Have a good look and see what thoughts arise in your mind!?
I spoke with this owner and he explained that the dog was calm, well behaved and had never attacked or bitten anyone!! BUT he must ....by law...wear a muzzle. So now we have succeeded in closing both ends of the Dog....we castrate and sterilise our canine friends as a matter of course, taken for granted...'normal'!! This is now done at a very early age in the majority of cases and certain breeds must be muzzled... have their mouths closed off!! SO...Why do 'we' breed dogs and 'show' them on the one hand when we are sterilising/castrating on the other and the Refuges are bulging?!!! Something just doesn't add up here!! iT'S INSANE!!
In addition, having observed other muzzled dogs, ( I refer to Rottweillers here ) largely owned by young men.. who make a great show of 'holding the dog back', and having to be a very powerful figure to command the dog's attention, plus spike collars and 'warning looks', one is tempted to come to the conclusion that sadly, the Rottweiller and similar breeds have been cast as the symbol of 'Male power' and the all powerful Penis !! What the owners of these poor dogs don't realise is that their stance comes over as a statement of impotence Loud and Clear!
No Male or Female in an honest relationship with their own sexual energy would need to behave like this and abuse an Animal !!...because Abuse it is!!
When are we going to realise that no matter what our gender is, we have both Male and female energies within us which are complementary!! but in humans these two energies seem to have become completely polarised!! But don't let's even go any further in this discussion! It's enough for now, to recognise that animals have been 'cast' in certain roles on the 'Human Stage' and they have no choice but to participate until we humans wake up!!
Please understand this is not intended to be read as 'personal'!! This problem is a collective/racial problem ( as I see it ) and although includes us all, does not discount the admirable work you and many people are doing to alleviate the sufferings of animals. xx
