Nanette: A Very Brave Dog

and how one little dog showed her life

Agree with thine Adversary part 4

E-mail Print PDF

I went into the village this morning as usual to walk Nanette, take a coffee and work on a musical score. At first I went to  buy some salad for this evening's meal and just outside the stall in the Rue Marche ( quaint medieval Lane ), who should I almost bump into but....yes, you're spot on!! Mme Bleach!!

It just so happens that it''s a habit of mine to carry a CD of one of my Orchestral/Choral works in the shopping bag just in case I might meet someone who would ask for a copy. As she approached I saw my opportunity and stopped at once, ' I have a present for you Mme '  I then handed her the CD, explaining I was a Composer and that it was a rather unusual cheerful setting of the Requiem Mass which it would be my pleasure to give her.

To my enormous surprise, she then regaled me with an interesting history of her life!! As far as I could understand her rapid french, she studied singing in Paris!! (Whoops!! nearly wrote ' sinning' there by mistake!!  ) and told me of her brief career before marriage. I was then able to mention that I was in the process of organising an open air concert for some 200 singers in 2013 in the centre of the town and asked her if she would be interested to be involved. She appeared decidedly uncertain and then said she did not know if she had time. I replied that I would keep her informed....and so I will, which of course would entail going down the forbidden path to put a note through her door!! Are we winning or not??

I really don't know but something very interesting is happening......a link with this rather disturbed lady has been made and now it is strengthened through Music.....well!! there's a thing......who knows what can come of this....... I thoroughly recommend ' Agree with thine Adversary...'
