Nanette: A Very Brave Dog

and how one little dog showed her life

Danger Nanette!!!

E-mail Print PDF

It happened once before recently...and then again yesterday. Nanette and Bertie have begun playing with each other. Although this is very charming, it is also a big worry!! In the first place, Nanette is 27 kilos and Bertie only 5, which puts him at a considerable disadvantage

About three weeks ago, I came in from shopping to discover Bertie reeling about in his own faeces with his head covered in blood. I saw the bone I had left in Nanette's bed and assumed that this must have been the reason...but I have done that many times before because normally Bertie would not approach the bed under those circumstances. I could not accept that Nanette.....who has always been completely passive and without aggression.... could have been responsible. There was however no other explanation.

The vet bathed the head and we saw a deep hole in the top of the skull. Bertie had a week of antibiotics for inflammation of the brain lining!! His skeleton ( which has been so good lately ) was all awry. This I dealt with as before ...with Radiesthesia.

Yesterday,....as you can see from the photo.....they were having great fun!. Suddenly, Bertie did something Nanette didn't like and she turned from my beautiful calm peaceful companion into a savage!! She pinned him down with her paws and went to bite the head.....I shouted and both dogs shot into their beds absolutely astonished!! Normally, I would never raise my voice and so the impact was immediate!!

Fortunately no physical harm was done but it left me very concerned about what might happen when I am out. As Nanette has a great fondness for the bed in the study, I shut her in there each time I went out today.

The negative thing about this is that it recreates the confinement of her earlier years with the 'Monster' who psychologically and physically abused her....it doesn't feel right!!

That was yesterday.....When I got home and went to let her out, I found her sleeping happily on her comfortable bed and Berte relaxing in the sun on the closed terrace.

Sometimes the human mind can become very complicated Jil!! My interpretation of enclosure was evidently not Nanette's interpretation!!! SO...I won't worry about it!! xx
